De-Furnishing and Virtual Staging

All of our Matterport tours now come with de-furnished views. For currently occupied homes and homes that have garage clutter or are badly in need of an update, de-furnished views help the buyer understand the potential of the space and how it can be adapted to their needs. Coupled with the tour’s walk-in measurements feature, any viewer can see how a space will adapt to their requirements.

For commercial space, this critical. Commercial property can be presented before it is vacated and accurately measured for new plans.

How Does it Work in 3D Tours and Photos?

3D Virtual Tours: De-Furnishing adds a new "chair" icon to the bottom left of the virtual tour screen. Clicking on it instantly removes furniture from the space; clicking again restores the furnished view.

Photos: High-resolution de-furnished still photos are extracted from the tour and used in your listings - with attribution clearly identifying the photos as an AI-defurnished photo.

Add Measurements

When you turn on both de-furnished views and walk-in measurements, you see the room in move-in condition with visible measurements of all walls, doors and ceilings. The buyer can then understand how their furniture will adapt to the room.

When to Use De-Furnishing

  • For residential space, de-furnishing helps showcase both well-kept homes and homes that may be in disrepair or cluttered with debris.

  • Sometimes well-kept homes have a cluttered room, such as a walk-in closet or garage, that could make a difference to a buyer.

  • In homes that are in disrepair or might have unattractive furniture, the de-furnished view gives the buyer a chance to imagine a makeover of the space

  • For commercial space, de-furnishing has great to potential for both photos and virtual tours:

  • Show the space empty before the tenant vacates

  • Spaces cluttered with old furniture or debris, presenting a much cleaner picture to the buyer who wants to imagine the space's possibilities or what it will look like when they take possession

  • Reveals the possibilities in spaces that have multiple uses (e.g., retail/office)

  • In virtual tours, viewers also have the ability to enable live measurements: dimensions appear instantly as they walk into any room.
