A Gas Station Digital Twin

APRIL 2024, KENNEWICK, WA

Matterport® Virtual Tours aren't just for showcasing real estate and hotels. We do a lot of virtual tour work for AEC (Architecture, Engineering and Construction) clients in North Idaho and Eastern Washington capturing everything from health clubs, banks and big box stores.

Property managers use these “digital twins” to track and manage and service installed equipment, take off-site measurements to estimate floor plans and building materials. This is essential for large franchise business - like the franchise owner of this gas station - to manage service, improvements, re-branding and new store plan-o-grams.

Architects and Engineers also use the spatial data (“point cloud”)from digital twins to design and plan renovations; facilities.

It's one thing to capture a quiet and tidy staged home ready for sale; something else entirely to capture a bustling gas station with hundreds of customers moving through the rooms.

Note that areas not accessible to the public are masked. Matterport makes it easy to create different views of virtual tours, based on audience and security requirements.

This tour was our first to feature Matterport’s defurnishing view. To activate it, click on the chair icon in the lower left corner of the screen once inside the tour
